The Thickness Maps workflow
The Thickness Maps workflow allows you to create isochore and isopach maps (True Vertical Thickness and True Stratigraphic Thickness) between two events. The following data representations can be used as input:
- two events with dense (tri-mesh or 2D grid) representations
- an event with a dense (tri-mesh or 2D grid) representation in combination with an event with marker interpretation
- two events with marker representations
The thickness map functionality allows you to create seamless thickness distributions by choosing an interpolation algorithm that you can use in combination with an optional trend map. For more user control, the thickness map interpolation can be supported with user-defined constraints such as points, lines or thickness patches.
Once you have a thickness map, you can use the Surface from Map tool, with which you can generate a surface based on an existing surface in combination with the thickness map. This newly generated surface can be integrated in your Structural Model.
